One of the best parts of summer is going to Busch Stadium to see a St. Louis Cardinals game. Watching a baseball game with friends and family, and eating popcorn and hotdogs, is a timeless tradition.
The 2013 National League Champions started off the season rougher than expected. There were numerous injuries, and the stats were lower than predicted.
However, that didn’t stop the Cardinals from sliding near the top during July. After two losses against Los Angeles, the team won eight of the next twelve games. This included a 6-2 catch into the All-Star Break.
Two of the Cardinal’s winning strikes came after game-ending home-runs, something that hasn’t happened at the Busch Stadium since the 2011 World Series, according to St. Louis Post Dispatch.
The team went into the second half of the season 52-44. In hopes of returning to the World Series and maintaining their championship, these sixty-six games will have to go well.
Here is the lineup for August:
8/1: Milwaukee Brewers @ 7:15 p.m.
8/2: Milwaukee Brewers @ 6:15 p.m.
8/3: Milwaukee Brewers @ 1:15 p.m.
8/15: San Diego Padres @ 7:15 p.m.
8/16: San Diego Padres @ 6:15 p.m.
8/17: San Diego Padres @ 1:15 p.m.
8/29: Chicago Cubs @ 7:17 p.m.
Every Friday game, Budweiser hosts Budweiser Bash Fridays. Two hours before the game begins, there are music, games, prizes, and Cardinal players from the past and present teams on deck for the enjoyment of their fans.
If you’re going with your kids, Delta Air Lines will be giving all kids, 15 or younger, a free Cardinal’s book bag at the August 2nd game against the Brewers. Check out the St. Louis Cardinals website for tickets and promotions.
Will the St. Louis Cardinals keep their National Championship title? We all hope so. Good luck to the team, and we hope to see you all at a game.
