A late night fatal car accident has lead to a wrongful death lawsuit to be filed against two Crocker residents.
The accident occurred as a 41-year-old man was driving a Mack dump truck and pulling a Sloan Excavating trailer down Highway 17 when the trailer suddenly became detached from a truck. After detaching, the trailer crashed into a truck, causing a man to be seriously injured and killing his wife.
The lawsuit states that the driver and the excavation company were both negligent in causing the accident that killed the man’s wife. The driver did not have safety chains attaching the trailer to the truck, no airbrakes, and no working lights on the rear of the trailer. The lawsuit states that the company was negligent for not inspecting the trailer before it went onto a public highway.
