St. Louis police are currently investigating an accident between a semi-truck and a train near Fairbanks Townships.
The accident occurred Monday just before 6:30 p.m. when a westbound semi-truck experienced brake failure. The driver tried to avoid colliding with the train and the cars waiting for the train to pass, by driving through a ditch.
The truck was still struck by the last few train cars. The front of the semi-truck was damaged and the train suffered minor damage as well. No one was injured in the collision.
