Pfizer has announced the recall of over one million packs of the Lo/Ovrall-28 tablet birth control pills after a packaging error was discovered the could potentially lead to unwanted pregnancy.
The recalled birth control pills also include the generic versions of the pill, Ethinyl Estradiol and Norgestrel tablets. The error was determined to be a packaging and inspection error that caused the incorrect amount hormone and sugar tablets to be placed on the packs.
The birth control packs are supposed to contain 21 hormone tablets and seven sugar tablets and having the wrong amount of the hormone pill can cause unwanted pregnancy.
