A 61-year-old man was killed after a one-vehicle car accident occurred over the weekend.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when the man was traveling north on Missouri Highway 49 when the vehicle ran off the side of the road. The man’s vehicle then struck a culvert off the side of the road before losing control and it spun multiple times and traveled up an embankment.
This caused the car to go airborne and it finally came to a stop when it struck a tree. The man was ejected on impact and he was not wearing a seat belt at the time. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man was pronounced dead.
Our deepest condolences are with the friends and family of the victim at this time.
