A head-on collision between an ambulance and a dump truck left one person dead and four others injured.
According to Missouri State Patrol, the accident occurred on Mo. 32 as a Peterbilt dump truck was heading westbound down the roadway and it crossed the center line and collided with a dump truck.
A patient that was in the Cox Health ambulance at the time of the crash was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident. Officials are still determining whether or not his death was a direct result from trauma related to the crash.
Four others were injured and transported to the hospital by air ambulance. Victims were said to be in fair and good condition the day after the crash. A full investigation into the accident is underway at this time.
