This week, Mercy Hospital St. Louis opened their new Burn Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Burn Center provides “comprehensive acute and reconstructive” burn treatment and is the closest burn unit for people living in eastern Missouri and southern Illinois.
The new center features 12 beds, a therapy gym, and space for patients with serious and complex burn injuries. It is located in the hospital’s new patient tower. Patients at the burn center can now receive both physical and occupational therapy and a better overall level of care.Director of the Mercy Burn Center Dr. Michael Smock said of the center, “We have always been focused on providing great care. Now we have the space for a more family centered approach. The increased capacity of the Burn Center will also allow us to accept patients with other complex wounds.”
The St. Louis personal injury lawyers of the Finney Law Office are happy to hear about the Burn Center’s changes. To learn more about the new Burn Center at Mercy Hospital, see KSDK.
