A recall of Alma Meats was announced last week and now an additional 137 pounds of cooked meat has been added to the recall.
The recalled products were made at a plant in Alma, Missouri and the recall came after it was determined that the cooked meat products may not have been cooled properly. The products were distributed two two different retail stores in the Lafayette County area.
The Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Meat and Poultry Inspection Program and the Missouri Department of Health announced the recall and are currently still investigating the situation. On Jan. 4, it was first discovered that the company had sold meat to customers that may have been handled improperly.
