A jury has now been chosen for a trial regarding a medical malpractice lawsuit in West Virginia.
The lawsuit revolves around the death of a 67-year-old man in 2007 and was filed by the man’s son. According to the lawsuit, the man, who had multiple sclerosis, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in order to be treated for a urinary tract infection.
The family was worried for the man as his condition worsened while in the hospital and he was admitted to the intensive care unit around 3 a.m. As the nurse was preparing for surgery at 5 a.m., the man passed away.
The family stated that he asked doctors for help multiple times. The plaintiffs claim that the doctors did not diagnose the man correctly and therefore did not treat him properly. Sources close to the case have stated that testimony is expected to last for nearly two weeks.
