The St. Louis Cardinals have announced that they have reached an agreement with pitcher, Jason Motte and he has signed a one-year contract.
According to Sportsrageous online, the team has avoided any arbitration and made the deal worth $1.95 million. Last season, Motte made $435,000 and asked for $2.4 million this year. Motte signed the deal stating that he will receive $1.5 million with an option to earn bonuses.
The bonus will be $25,000 and he will receive with every 50, 55 and 60 game that he pitches. Motte pitched his career bests in 2011 and finished the season at 5-2. After this deal, the Cardinals no longer have any players that are eligible for arbitration at this time.
