A nursing home patient was killed after a fellow nursing home resident attacked him. The attack occurred at Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center last week when a dementia patient was attacked.
She was brought to the hospital last week when she was found in distress. She was pronounced dead shortly after because of the brain damage that she suffered as a result of the attack.
Officials at first thought that the injuries came from a fall, but a further investigation showed that the injuries were actually from assault. It was then found that it was due to another resident that lived at the home.
Nursing home negligence affects those who are the must vulnerable. Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the victim at this time.
