ILLINOIS MAN KILLED AFTER TENT COLLAPSES OUTSIDE ST. LOUIS STADIUM

By Daniel Finney

An Illinois man was killed and several others were injured after an accident occurred in St. Louis when the tent outside of the baseball stadium collapsed.

An official stated that an investigation is currently underway in order to determine whether or not the tent was under the correct regulations or if the tent operators were not paying attention to severe weather. A storm came through the area and a Kilroy’s Sports Bar tent collapsed.

The storm was fast-moving and ripped through the area just 80 minutes after the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game ended. The building commissioner stated that the tent permit went in on April 11 and it passed just a few days after this.

One of the requirements in order to be passed in St. Louis was that the tent must be able to withstand winds up to 90 mph. Seventeen people were injured in the collapse and nearly 100 others were treated at the scene. A 58-year-old man was killed when the tent collapsed, but the exact cause of death is still unknown.
