TENDONITIS

A worker on a construction job may need to perform the same or substantially similar physical motions with tremendous frequency. Though each motion may seem to be harmless, through repetition, a worker may develop a painful condition known as tendonitis. These injuries can occur in any of the tendons, although they are typically associated with the arms and legs. A person may not be able to return to work due to the pain associated with this condition, requiring that individual to take time off simply to recover.

To discuss your legal options if you have been injured at your place of work, contact the St. Louis tendonitis attorneys of the Finney Law Office by calling 314-646-0300 today.

Symptoms of Tendonitis

Workers injured because of repetitive actions may develop tendonitis due to repeat or long-term stress to their tendons. The tendons are a critically important part of motion, as they connect muscle to bone, facilitating movement. When this tissue becomes inflamed, a person may experience some symptoms that require recovery time or medical assistance.

The following symptoms are linked to tendonitis:

  • Swelling
  • Stiffness
  • Pain
  • Redness
  • A sensation of heat around the inflamed area

Depending on how severe the inflammation is, a person may require several weeks of recovery down-time. In more serious cases, a brace may be needed to keep the tendon from becoming increasingly stressed through movement.
