A woman was killed after an elevator accident occurred in New York City this morning.
According to officials, the accident occurred at a 26-story building that housed many companies, including an advertising business. The woman was heading to work and was stepping into the elevator when her foot or leg was somehow caught in the door.
The elevator did not pause and the car moved quickly up the shaft, pulling the woman up with it. The elevator then stopped between the second and third floor and came to a stop.
There were two people in the elevator at the time of the accident and both were transported to the hospital in order to be treated for emotional trauma.The building has reportedly received violations for having elevator defects.
